Methodology

Keep the source, date and uncertainty visible.

LOF helps a team begin an investigation with a record another reviewer can understand and challenge.

01

Attribute the source

A useful signal should identify where it came from and when it was reviewed. A source link provides context; it is not automatic validation.

02

Separate observation from inference

What was observed, what a source states and what a reviewer thinks it may mean should remain distinguishable.

03

Preserve disagreement

Conflicting or old records stay visible. The workspace should not silently choose the most convenient version.

04

State what is missing

Missing information helps define the next property, legal, planning or technical check.

05

Share the minimum

A private record is never published wholesale. A limited shared profile contains only deliberately selected permitted fields.

06

Keep the human decision

Comparison and prioritisation support review. Accountable people still decide which opportunity moves forward.

Data quality and decision boundaries

Public and third-party sources can be incomplete, delayed, conflicting or wrong.

LOF makes sources and missing information easier to inspect. It cannot guarantee accuracy, coverage, currency, availability, ownership, title, planning outcome, value, investment suitability or legal effect. A prioritisation signal identifies where further investigation may be worthwhile; it is not a recommendation.

Questions

Common methodology questions.

Does LOF verify ownership?

No. It may hold carefully labelled ownership leads, but title and authority to transact require appropriate legal and source verification.

Does a score prove an opportunity is good?

No. A prioritisation signal can support review, but it is not a valuation, recommendation or prediction.

Can private evidence appear on a shared profile?

No. A limited shared profile contains only the fields its owner deliberately selects from the permitted set.

How current are sources?

Each source can have its own update cycle. LOF records source and review context, but users must consider delay, conflict and incompleteness.
